Aren't we lucky that the American/Australian forces were bravely protected in Iraq by the likes of Jessica Lynch?
NO ... is the first word that comes to mind. My purpose is not to rubbish the private herself, granted she gives the appearance of an airhead like very few can, but she was smart enough not to sell herself out and claim glory.

Here's the real story:

Rolling through the sandpit that is iraq, she suddenly finds herself under attack. Does she grab her automatic weapon and slay the towel headed aggressors like rambo on crack? No... instead she heroically sticks her head between her legs and prays till she passes out. Meanwhile the real heroes of the fight bust a cap all around her shit scared ass while she continues to be a liability. So not unlike the propaganda of WW1 that lead the german people to believe they were kicking ass until the day they surrendered, the U.S. sends home fallacious accounts of Jessica kicking ass like she knows nothing else.

So she gets captured and has to have her shit collected by a team of marines and other soldiers that remain to this day in the shadow of HER heroic deeds. So if anyone that hides and doesn't shoot one round, gets captured then rescued and a helicopter home is a hero then I must be GOD.

I can imagine what would have happened if the entire army was made of Jessica Lynch's... we'd all be wearing tea towels right now. Though that aside, we all owe Jessica a debt of gratitude for exposing the U.S. for the propaganda pedaling tyrant that it is.

It was no secret that opposition to the "invasion" of iraq was enormous in many countries.. the U.S was no exception. So I guess in an attempt to win public support the U.S put it's media muscle into highlighting one of the triumphs of the war, and who wants to let the truth get in the way of a good story. Sure Jessica whipmed out in battle, but at least she had the guts to say she was no hero. Nobody wanted to see her die as a P.O.W but to distract the public from the reality of the invasion, that is the death of countless American, Australian and British service men and women was criminal.

So if the media can do us a favour and bring home the REAL stories I know we'll all be grateful. Ok Thanks.
