This song came about from a yearning of mine to stop being original with music (when I say original I mean using the same 3 chords) and rip off something already written. The first idea was to make the house of the rising son some kind of house where the local children go to be molested. Deciding that idea was inappropriate didn't take long and out of nowhere we realised that the house in New Orleans was quite possibly damaged in the recent hurricane. From there came a song about the destruction of houses everywhere and a political statement about the entire world being ravaged by war and or mother nature.

The song has Mad Sophist on Lead Vocals and Guitar with Undie Man on backing vocals (or backing retorts.)

Additional: My name on msn for a while was "There isn't a house in New Orleans." I can't count how many assholes replied "there is.. it's called the house of the rising sun! Ha!" All pleased with themselves that they didn't understand that THAT was the joke. Morons.
