Microsleep - The peril that lurks beneath your eyelids

I think I owe it to you my loyal readers to make sure you're educated on the dangers of a Microsleep.
A microsleep ... as the name suggests is a sleep that is micro. Now that we've cleared that up I can continue.
I recently received an email from Mozza who is one of MAD SOPIST.COM's guest writers in the "YOUR SAY" section. His email documented his recent encounter with a microsleep whilst driving his car. He drifted off for a second (hence "micro") and proceeded to cross over the wrong side of the road, miss two cars heading the other way and crashed into a guard rail. He also narrowly missed a telegraph pole that would have spelled his doom, luckily satan was on his side that day.

For your convenience I've taken the liberty of including a picture that details his accident:

Yeah, so Mozza was totally owned by the microsleep. His car has gone to the scrap yard and he walked away unhurt .. for which I'm sure you're all grateful. So may this serve as a warning because in your car you can travel 100ms in just 4 seconds, as the television advertisement states. My advice to you is that if you're likely to fall asleep behind the wheel, make sure you're driving a car in the desert made out of marshmallow ... otherwise you are at the mercy of a remorseless silent killer.
