Trains I am now going to complain about trains. I feel I am fully qualified to do so as I use most of the possible modes of transport during my working day (Yes I have a job, I am a Director of a large company). I get a bus to my town center, then walk to the train station, then get a train to Manchester city center, then get the tram to work (My private helicopter is broken at the moment you see).
So as I travel to my job, as I think I said, I am a Doctor, I get a flavour of all different types of traveling. Now, the only part of this twice daily journey (Don't scratch your heads, I also come home at the end of the day, dumbass) that I do not like is the Train journey. No, that's not the right word: I DETEST the train. These old rickety trains are the only part of my day as a Nuclear Physicist that i cannot stand. These trains are overcrowded. I don't give a damn that the government says we cannot call them that - "They are not overcrowded, they are crowded" - saying that does not stop the fact that there are way too many people on these trains.
Now, a lot of people get on at my stop, and the train is then full. People are standing all the way down the thin alleyway on this stinking, hot, humid piece of moving steel. Now, I am unvaringly have to stand between a very large, sweating woman and a skinny dude with a HUGE rucksack (Although it is nearer the size of a small motel room than a rucksack) which will hit me at every bump. This, however difficult to endure without my anger button being pressed down forcibly, is not my gripe. it is the fact that there are three more stops after mine on the way to Manchester. Each one with people wanting to get on. Now, as the train is nearly always full at this point, this influx of people makes the situation nearly unbearable, and with two stops to go there is no more room for anyone else, so they then have to wait for the next train.
All I ask, my only reason for writing this article (Apart from unwinding after a hards day managing a top class football team), is to make a plea to railway companies everywhere. ADD ONE MORE DAMN CARRIAGE TO THE 'RUSH HOUR' TRAINS! Is this too much to ask? One more carriage on the peak hour trains would make it possible for at least fifty more bodies to sit down, not counting the extra people standing up (with room to breathe). This would make life a lot better for everyone involved: I would be guaranteed a seat. Those standing up would be able to sit down. Those who cannot normally get on the train would be able to get one, and more than likely sit down as well
.More people, once they hear they could travel in comfort, would get on the trains, thus making more money for the rail companies. Everyone's a winner. It really is that simple. It boggles my mind. (Yes, I used the word 'boggle', I won't tell anyone if you don't) It really does. How come nobody in these companies have figured this out yet? Why isn't everything done. As always, my faithful readers (All one of you....hey Crack Head Dave!), I hope you enjoyed!
